Packet loss is the single most common error on Video-over-IP networks, both Ethernet packets as well as MPEG-2TS packets. Obviously, video and audio stream dropouts are totally unacceptable. IP Packet Loss may occur due to bandwidth limitations, network congestion, failed links and transmission errors.
